Walking...walking...walking

So, Barry took the doctor literally when he said to get out and walk. So, we've been a walking. Well, it does actually feel good to be walking a lot more. I don't have as much discomfort as I did a few months and even weeks ago when I walk. We have tried the last couple of nights to get out and walk with Joey at least two laps around the small circle in our subdivision. At the beginning of this pregnancy I could walk the entire length of the subdivision, but not anymore. Hopefully very soon I will be back to walking the whole subdivision.

Tomorrow is the last official day of school. My grade cards are stuffed and in my mailbox awaiting my arrival at 7:00 A.M. for distribution. We'll see how many kids actually get up and come and get them in the morning. The ones that don't get picked up have to be mailed. So, I spent the morning addressing envelopes so as not to have to do it tomorrow. The sooner I can get out of there the better. They announced today unofficially who is our new principal. It is our current assistant principal. He seems to have lots of good ideas, but I don't think some people are going to be to happy with him trying to keep academic time as close to the state requirements as possible. I think it is a great start that has been needed for a long time. Not that my current principal hasn't done a great job, but things have been very lax this year when it came to academic time on task. I still have no idea what I'm teaching next year, but I have had a heart to heart with the new principal. He understands who I want to work with and what I want to teach. He and I discussed it yesterday. He agreed with my argument for a 2 hour language arts block to better teach the English, Reading and Spelling the way our new textbooks are set up to be taught. He has agreed at this point to allow me to have two 2 hour blocks of language arts next year and then teach my own homeroom Science. It should be interesting. He is going to attempt to go back to the team concept we have been in in sixth grade up until this school year.

My shower at school today was a great success. They have all decided that sixth grade knows how to throw a party. The food was great and Baby James recieved lots of great gifts to welcome him into this world. Daddy has already managed to put the swing together and gone through all the other gifts since he has been home this evening. I think he enjoys the gifts more than anybody.

So, as another school year wraps up I am reminded that Barry and I have been out of high school 15 years this year. Boy it doesn't seem like it has been that long. It also means Barry and I have known each other for 15 years. Someone commented today that it seems like just yesterday they were throwing us a wedding shower at school. When I commented that it had been almost two years since we were married, they were amazed that it had been that long. Boy how time flies when your having fun.

Well, enjoy the rest of the week. We will probably not blog again until after the doctors on Friday.

Well sure, you won't blog. . .you'll be out walking. And, you know. . . walking is good for "getting them kiddos out" so keep it up!

Thursday is looking less and less likely. The hospital made Caroline a follow-up appointment with our pediatrician on Thursday morning. . .and tomorrow Edison goes to the orthodontist. . . and my sitter can only stay 'til noon.

Are you getting the picture?

I'll keep you posted!
