It has been a crazy week. It is amazing how much routine we have in our lives and when something is different it throws it all out of whack.
James did not have daycare this week. The bad thing about him being in a home daycare is that they can take vacation and close for a week. I don't blame them, sometimes you just need a break. Their usual vacation weeks are the week after school gets out and the week before it starts. However, this year they were taking a class for their state license and couldn't take the week before school started off. So, they were closed this week.
It is very difficult for us to find someone to take care of James during the week when the only family we have in Tennessee are Arthur and Gwen. and Wendy and Kevin (in Johnson City). And well, Arthur and Gwen have their hands full with their two lovely little boys. But Aunt Gwen came through and offered to keep James two days this week. She braved it and had all three boys at home. Things went well with a few little mishaps thanks to Egan. Aunt Gwen enjoyed having James, I think. She enjoyed the little bit less weight then are little Q-bot (Quinlin). I think James enjoyed being there too. He was very happy both days that I went to pick him up. Of course for me it meant a really early morning and little bit later evening. I had to leave the house at 5:45 A.M. to get to Arthur and Gwen's in Maryville by 6:30 A.M. Which gave me a little over an hour to get across the mountain to Pigeon Forge.
On Tuesday and today, our wonderful children's minister, "Uncle" Adam kept James. Barry thought he was abducting him today, but he did finally give him back. Adam took James with him to church on Tuesday, and James got to meet lots of new people and hang out with them. Then today "Uncle" Adam took James with him to help move his grandparents into a new assisted living facility. Adam's grandmother enjoyed having James around. Barry and I aren't really sure what we would do without our "extended" family. Adam has been such a great help with James. He is willing and able to go get James at the drop of a hat, if I call and am stuck at school. We are blessed to have "Uncle" Adam and "Aunt" Megan in our lives.
Thursday was the only day that we didn't have a sitter for James. Which worked out okay, because I had to go back to the doctors. I still am not feeling much better. I am now being treated for the root of the Upper Respiratory infection...a sinus infection. Oh joy! Anyway, I stayed home with our little one and thoroughly enjoyed the day. James and I were able to run errands and get some things done around the house. We also took a 4 mile walk. Which I really need to do more often. The walking track at Seymour First Baptist Church is wonderful. And the weather was so pretty yesterday morning when we got done at the doctors office. I enjoyed the day off. Apparently, it is just what the doctor ordered. My blood pressure has been running high for the last two weeks, but yesterday at the doctors it was 126/68. Absolutely normal. The nurse practitioner was very pleased with it. The nurse that took it thinks it could be work related. Alice, the nurse practitioner, wants me to wait until Monday and have them take it again at school to see what it is. She wants to make sure all of the psudephedrine is out of my system to really get good look on if it work related. So, I guess we will see on Monday what it is.
I have been truly blessed it seems in the friendships that Barry and I are making with our church family. When we joined Seymour Heights in October of 2005, we only knew a few people that we called friends. We have been blessed to enjoy the friendships that have come from the people we go to church with. Without those friendships, I'm not sure where we would be sometimes. They have been there to support us and celebrate our marriage. They were there to support us through out the loss of our first pregnancy and celebrated with us the pregnancy and birth of James. They were there to support us while mom was in the hospital, throughout her passing, and the aftermath of dealing with her estate. With us not having much family here in Tennessee to spend time with and do things with many of them have taken us under their wings as family. It is nice to have that "extended" family at times. We feel more connected. We still greatly miss Barry's family up north and our friends, but I am feeling more at home with having such a wonderful church family.
Well, I guess I have rambled enough for tonight and updated you on our happenings. I will try to get some new pictures of James and get them uploaded. Adam took some this week while he had him, so I hope Megan will share them with me soon or put them on her blog. Enjoy your weekend. We are going to enjoy the fall weather that seems to be approaching and get our yard and flower beds ready for winter.
