Wet Nursery

After a very long Children's Ministry Team meeting (budgets...yuck!), James and I returned home last night as a thunderstorm was blowing into our little neck of the woods. Barry had been at home working on his truck and relaxing prior to our return. I changed James and began what should have been his last feeding of the day. He decided he wasn't tired, since he slept through the entire meeting in various people's arms. So, when he finally was ready to go to sleep after a terrible downpour, I went into his room and stepped on wet carpet. Of course, I immediately blamed the dog. Upon Barry's further inspection he determined it wasn't the dog's fault. So, we started checking things out. Come to find out that water was leaking through the ceiling fan....not such a good place to be leaking from. Barry tried to go up in the attic to check things out, but he couldn't see anything. So, we decided to wait until morning to investigate further and just turned off the light fixture. Once everyone was settled in for the night, it started raining hard again. Barry went to check things out and there was no water coming through at the ceiling fan.

This morning Barry went up in the attic and could find no evidence of anything being wet. So, he went up on the roof to check things out. Other than a small part of a shingle missing in that general vacinity there is no rhyme nor reason for water coming in at the ceiling fan. His dad seems to think that if the rain was blowing and coming down that hard it may have just come in one of the roof vents and had to go somewhere. So for now we think we are safe. Barry has gone to our neighborhood Lowe's to get something to take care of the mssing piece of shingle.

James is doing quite well. He is awake more throughout the day and sleeps more at night. He will usually go about 4-5 hours at night between feedings. When he does wake up we are able to change him, feed him, and put him right back down. Which is wonderful!! When he does wake up in the morning, he is usually awake for 2-3 hours. Then he will eat again and take a nap. Right now he is napping on me while I type. During the day he doesn't like to sleep in his crib. You lay him in the crib, and he is awake in 5 minutes. We don't have this problem at night. Yes, I know we are probably spoiling him. We'll break him of it eventually.

Well, I hope this finds you all well. We will keep you posted. More pictures to come in a few days.
