James had his one month check-up today with Dr. Harsh.
He now weighs in at 11 lbs. 6 oz. and is 23 inches long (which would probably be 26 inches by hospital standards since he lost 2 inches at the doctors office during his first apointment). Dr. Harsh says he looks good. He has some heat rash that we are supposed to put corn starch on, and he has baby acne that we are to leave alone. He has some dry skin that we are supposed to put white lotion on even his forehead (I thought it might be the start of cradle cap...but nope). He had to have his 2nd HepB Vaccine. Boy...he didn't like that, but he has a really cool Snoopy band-aid. We talked with the nurse about rice cereal. She kind of stalled and then said, "What did the doctor say?" I told her we forgot to ask him and that we had been told by several people to start him on rice cereal, since he is eating so much. She stalled again and then said, " He usually recommends it at about 2 months, but if I were you you could try giving him a teaspoon of rice cereal in his bottle and see how he does." So, we are going to try it either tonight or tomorrow night and see how he does.
We go back to the pediatrician on August 13th for his two month check-up which is at exactly two months. He will get 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine. He really won't be a happy camper that day.
We are going away for the weekend to Johnson City to see Uncle Kevin and Aunt Wendy. This will be James's first major road trip. We will keep you posted. Enjoy the rest of the week.

I had such a fun time putting James to sleep today -- when Adam couldn't do it.
You know if you ever need a babysitter -- we're there. I think we owe you a couple nights out! ; )
Have fun this weekend!
