We're back!!

Barry and I spent our first weekend away from James. It was rough, but I only called Megan and Adam a total of 4 times the whole weekend. Adam called once and scared me to death, and we hadn't even made it to Bristol. They were just calling to say hi. Megan texted me a couple of times to let me know James was fine, and they were having fun.

Barry and I enjoyed our trip to the races. Barry and Lee enjoyed the Nationwide Food City 250 on Friday night. It seemd like the race flew by. They only had a couple of cautions. Beth and I worked the concession stand for DSAG (Down Syndrome Awareness Group) on Friday night with our friends Angie, Mark, Jim, Christine, John, Carmen and Kathy. We all had a great time. We spent the night at Wendy and Kevin's house in Johnson City and then it was back to Bristol yesterday. Beth, Lee, Barry and I walked around the driver's trailers and all the other trailers for about 2 hours and then worked the rest of the day in the concesson stand for DSAG. It was a long and tiring day. We had a blast thought. The race ended up red flagged because of a huge wreck, and we were super busy. We ran out of food several times and had to wait on it to be brought to us or cooked. We left the track this morning around 1:00 A.M. and drove home. We were hurting and tired. Barry's ankle is in a brace. We aren't sure what he has done, but it hurts. My feet are bothering me a little. Oh well! It was for a great cause.

James spent the weekend with "Uncle" Adam and "Aunt" Megan. He was a very good boy for them. He even slept till 4:00 A.M. both mornings for them. "Aunt" Megan took lots of pictures, and I will share them with you soon (I'm sure she will too).

I was ready to go get him this morning when I woke up. It dawned on me that I hadn't held him since I put him to bed on Thursday night. It made me very sad, and I cried. Barry laughed at me. So, we left and went to church to meet Adam and Megan. I couldn't wait to get him from them. So, I went downstairs told Adam I was there and went straight to the nursery. There sat my baby boy after just finishing a bottle. "Aunt" Megan was in there to get him. I scooped him up and held him tight. And yes, he did recognize my voice which melted my heart. Yeah!! He finally does recognize it!!! We took Adam and Megan to lunch and then went to their house to get all of his stuff. It was like Barry had moved him in with all the stuff it takes for the weekend. We are now home with him, and it feels great. He is laying on his blanket talking to us. It's a great sound to hear.

Well, I'm off to clean up our house, do laundry and unpack all his stuff. I will try to get on later and upload some new pictures for you all. Enjoy your week.
